Watershed Support Network

People & Organizations:

Support Network Organizations (pdf)
A number of Indiana organizations and agencies can provide technical, policy, fundraising, regulatory, planning and visioning, community outreach, program evaluation, and media assistance for watershed groups. The Indiana Watershed Leadership program is working to strengthen the connections between available assistance and the watershed groups who need help. We have created a draft table of organizations and agencies that watershed groups may contact with their questions. We are working on a more comprehensive list of individuals around the state that are willing to respond to questions from watershed groups on specific topic areas. If you would like to be included in the expert resource support network, please contact us.

IDEM Regional Watershed Specialists
There are five regional watershed specialists working for The Indiana Department of Environmental Management. These individuals are available to assist watershed groups with planning and implementation needs. You can find more information at the watershed resources page of the Indiana Association of Soil & Water Districts.

Knowledge Exchange:

A listserv focused on Indiana water issues is used for the exchange of ideas, problems, and solutions among anyone interested in water quality and watersheds throughout the state and surrounding region. Here is how you can subscribe to the water-l list serv and begin communicating with your peers. Using this listserv is a quick way to post a question and receive answers and ideas, and also helps build and leverage the significant knowledge base and experience among people working on watersheds and water quality.

Indiana Rivers Rally:

The Rivers Rally will bring together diverse groups and people from the state and region for a two day exchange of current knowledge and experience. The goal of the conference is to strengthen the network of people and watershed organizations for exchange of knowledge and approaches to watershed planning and restoration. Conference information us available at http://www.indianariversrally.org.
