Academy Annual Report
People and wildlife require healthy watersheds. Agriculture, industry,
and communities all use and must find ways of better protecting the watersheds
that make up Indiana. There are significant challenges for local organizations

Watershed Leadership Program is focused on strengthening the capacity of
local leaders to engage their organizations and communities in successful
watershed management through the following means:Increasing knowledge and its application through a watershed
academy training and special topics workshops. The Indiana Watershed Leadership Academy has trained 54 leaders as of May 2007, and a new class will begin in 2008.
Providing forums for the exchange of problems and solutions via the Indiana Rivers Rally and online communication tools.
Developing a more effective support network through collaboration and partnership with research and education experts and conservation organizations.
