10:30 and 11:30 a.m. – Traveling Physics FunFest • FunFest is a fast-paced, high-energy exhibition of basic physics concepts using demonstrations to delight and astound audiences of all ages.
12:45 p.m. - The Good! The Bad! The Awesome! Insects as Theater . No reservations are necessary for this theatrical production that showcases the good, bad, and awesome of the insect world. This presentation features a theatrical context and Dr. Tom Turpin and his assistants. It explains the beneficial role insects play, how they behave as pests, and the truly unique characteristics they exhibit. Highlights include the chemistry of fireflies, the dance of the honeybee, and an invasive villain. Get your seat early for this way-off- Broadway show, because it is bound to be standing room only.
2:00 p.m. - The Purdue Repertory Dance Company . See performances from the X Works Dance Concert and Spring Works 2008. Activities for kids of all ages will be provided on stage after the show.
3:15 p.m. - Entomology Quiz Bowl . Fifth graders from area schools square off for a friendly quiz bowl competition to test their knowledge of insect biology and ecology.
