Extension Homemakers Creed

We believe in the present and its opportunities, in the future and its promises, in everything that makes life large and lovely, in the divine joy of living and helping others:  And so we endeavor to pass on to others that which has benefited us, striving to go onward and upward, reaching the pinnacle of economic perfection, in improving, enlarging, and endearing the greatest institution in the world - THE HOME

.~Mrs. Claude Horne

IEHA Logo

Our IEHA logo depicts our Extension Homemaker organization with a unique combination of symbolism.  The three figures depict the endless combination of family members, representing male and female, adult and child.  The letters, IEHA, our associations' acronym, form an important part of the home by providing support.  The roof of the home extends beyond the perimeter of the design, indicating that the influence of IEHA extends beyond the home and family to the surrounding community.

 A Homemaker

Let me be:

Honest with myself,
Orderly in my home,
Mindful of my shortcomings,
Earnest in my faith,
Mentally alert to new ideas,
Active in my community,
Kind to my fellowmen,
Eager to learn,
Reliant to my work.

Then I will have earned the honor of being a Homemaker.
