The Public Policy Program is an effort to increase the National Campaign's involvement in a range of national public policy issues related to teen pregnancy prevention and to the work of the Campaign. The primary goal of our public policy work is to advance the National Campaign's mission of reducing teen & unplanned pregnancy by one-third between 2006 and 2015.

For more information, please contact Andrea Kane, 202-478-8554, or Jessica Swafford, 202-478-8529.

The National Campaign Expands Its Mission
One-third of pregnancies in the United States are unplanned, according to a new analysis released by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. To help combat this statistic, the National Campaign announced on May 9 that it is expanding its work to include young adults while still maintaining its focus on teens.

In support of the National Campaign’s expanded focus, we have created a sister website, www.TheNationalCampaign.org. Our new website for teens— www.StayTeen.org—is now also up and running.

New Data on Abstinence Education Released
In response to a new evaluation of abstinence-only programs released today by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy released the following statement from Executive Director Sarah Brown:
