It's My Child, Too! A Curriculum for Fathers

It's My Child Too!

It's My Child, Too! is a short-term parenting education program for young fathers in need of knowledge and skills associated with competent parenting. The program was prepared for young fathers living in high-risk circumstances.

Research increasingly demonstrates that meaningful change in parenting behavior requires intensive, long-term support. It's My Child Too! is viewed as a first step in heightening awareness of the roles, responsibilities, and skills of fatherhood.

The program is designed to help fathers recognize the many important roles they play in their children's lives. The program offers practical parenting knowledge and skills to support confidence in parenting. The positive tone of the program fosters a father's perception of himself as an important and necessary part of his child's life, and goes one step further to promote parental stability by fostering personal stability.
