If you are familiar
with 4-H as just the County Fair, think again! We are much, much
more! Take a look at all the exciting educational programs available for
youth today!
Your time is
valuable, so we make it as easy as possible!
Many of the following programs contain video tapes, teacher guides, and
handout masters for student activities. A simple phone call or e-mail to
the Extension schedules a program: just
call the appropriate Extension Educator. We will be happy to deliver any
educational programming material to your school, but it is your responsibility
to return the materials at the appropriate time.
These
research-backed programs, developed by land grant universities such as Purdue
University, are pilot tested and evaluated before they are brought to you.
Most of these
programs contain experiential learning activities where youth learn by
doing. We teach with "Hands-on, Minds-on" lessons.
Pre- and post-test
evaluations show that youth enjoy the programs, and increase their knowledge.
Because of
4-H/Youth Extension's not-for-profit status, we can bring you these programs
free of charge. Several programs are
financed through grants and/or the Vanderburgh County 4-H Council, Inc.
These programs are
a great enhancement to your learning environment, and help reinforce topics
that you are already studying. All programs
are flexible and can easily fit into your schedule and time frame.
Teachers offer
positive comments and continue to request programs for their students!
