RE: Hovde Award

We are now soliciting nominations for the 2008 Hovde Award of Excellence in Educational Service to the Rural People of Indiana. I want to invite you to nominate deserving candidates for this prestigious award. Attached is a flier for the 2008 Hovde Award that you may distribute as appropriate to your colleagues and to those who visit your office.

We ask that you limit the number of letters of support submitted to a maximum of five. In recent years, we have received a large number of letters, many of which were redundant in nature. We believe the selection process will benefit by having a limited number of well written, appropriately solicited letters of support. We do realize that you have no control over unsolicited letters of support. All letters we receive will continue to be included in the nominee’s packet.

Should you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help in generating a deep pool of deserving nominees.
