All Summer Long, the Purdue Extension - Shelby County Office is piloting our Teaching, Growing, Giving Project where children from Girls Inc. and the Shelbyville Parks Department learn how to grow and consume fruits and vegetables. Produce generated in our community garden will go to local food pantries and kitchens. This program is supported in part by Shelby County Ag Promotion, Shelby County Co-op/Ace Hardware and Shelby County Solid Waster Management District.

Mission

The mission of the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service is education of Indiana citizens through the application of land-grant university research and knowledge base to develop youth and strengthen agriculture, families and communities.
