SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Dear Educator,

4-H has a 100-year history of helping young people develop life skills tied to the four H's (Head, Heart, Hands, and Health).

Specialists at Purdue University draw on university research to design curricula that emphasize hands-on learning. The

age-appropriate activities focus on developing life skills in leadership, citizenship, communication and decision making.

The goal is to help build self-confidence while youth learn specialized skills and explore possible careers. Most of these

curricula will easily fit into the school environment. A leader's guide that gives tips about presenting the material and

provides activities and answers accompanies most curricula.

Teachers use the 4-H programs to supplement traditional book learning with interactive approaches to topics like space,

nutrition, electricity, and natural resources.

If you wish to participate in these enriching programs, please contact Debbie Reed at the Randolph County Extension

Office, 765-584-2271 or 584-8005. All programs are available on a first-come, first serve basis. The Extension

Educator will work out dates with you if not available when you requested. Materials can be delivered to you.

If you need any additional information about any of these programs, please contact us immediately and we will be more

than happy to help you.
