Planning for New Year Underway
Our second meeting of the year was
held on October 5, 2009 in the conference room at the
county highway garage. Old business included
completing sign up forms for membership. (See the
link at the left for the "2009 - 2010 Sign Up
Sheet" if you have yet to complete a form.)
We also set Thursday, October 29th as
our annual "Trick-or-Treat So Others Can Eat"
food drive. Members will gather at the Extension
Office at 5:30 PM to divide up and canvas town to gather
food and coat donations. Dressing in costume was
strongly suggested. Please ask your parents if
they would be willing to drive as we will need
assistance in that area. Members of the Sunshine
Society of Eastern Pulaski School have volunteered to
assist with collections.
In new business, forms were
distributed for the annual poinsettia sales.
Orders are to be turned in at the November 2nd meeting,
or no later than November 5th to the Extension Office.
An order form is available at the left if you were not
at the meeting to receive one. Now is a good time
to start completing your project requirements. By
sell poinsettias you have assisted with a club fund
raiser. HINT: Ask business and church
organizations if they would like to purchase poinsettias
for holiday decorating.
Next meeting: Election of
officers will be held at the November 2nd meeting.
The nominating committee will be compiling a slate of
candidates from the submitted sign up forms. If
you wish to be considered for an office, drop off your
sign up sheet ASAP. Also, your new Youth Educator,
Natalie Federer is planning on joining us at the next
meeting. She is working part time here while
finishing current obligations at Purdue. She will
be full time starting in mid-December.
