Dear Morgan County 4-H Member,

Welcome to 4-H in 2008!  This handbook is a reference for you to use in selecting, coordinating, and completing your 4-H projects.  This handbook is the result of many people’s efforts to keep you informed and updated, and you should refer to it when you have questions.

Your 4-H leader and superintendent is also an important reference when you have questions.  If you are not a member of a club, be sure to find one soon.  The 4-H elements of belonging, learning/mastery, independence and generosity are taught in a club setting through the group working together and through the 4-H curriculum used in your projects.  Opportunities to value and practice service to others are very important in your 4-H journey, so become an involved member in your club!

Remember to enroll in 4-H soon!  The suggested enrollment deadline to be eligible to receive mailings and updates from the Extension Office is March 15th.  The last opportunity to become a member is May 15th (with exceptions outlined in this handbook).  Be part of a tradition that spans more than a century of leadership, citizenship, and life skills—"Set Sail With 4-H"!

Sincerely,

Rena Sheldon,
