Master Gardeners - Lake County

Master Gardeners across the state of Indiana and the US volunteer in their communities including giving educational presentations and giving advice to homeowners on landscapes and gardening when problems arise.

Booth at Lake County Fair

In Lake County, Master Gardeners plant and maintain the flower beds at the Government Center and the Fairgrounds in Crown Point, at some of the county parks, such as Buckley and Deep River, and they have an information booth at the Lake County Fair. At some of these locations, Master Gardeners are available to answer questions on gardening and insect pests. Homeowners may call the Lake County Purdue Extension office with questions as the Master Gardeners man a helpline from April through October or email them. Otherwise homeowners can contact the ANR/HORT Educator at 219-755-3240 or by email. There are materials on gardening available through Purdue at:  http://www.ces.purdue.edu/extmedia/menu.htm or check out the ANR webpage.
