To register, please email Roy Ballard: rballard@purdue.edu

Please take this opportunity to welcome Spring on the farm and learn from the farmers themselves what farming is really about. It is truly a way of life as well as a way to make a living from the land.

The Taste of Hancock County Farm Tour will give you and your family an opportunity to meet a number of the region's fine local producers of crops and livestock and experience some of our farms.

There will be a variety of fun and educational activities to take part in at each tour stop.

This will be a learning experience and...we hope ...a lot of fun Important notes to make the day more enjoyable:

.....This is a family experience but we want to remind you that these are working farms with actual livestock and farm equipment. We ask that you dress for the weather of the day and wear footwear suitable for being outdoors in the spring. Children are VERY welcome but parents are encouraged to stay close as you share this time learning about the farm together.

.....We encourage you to bring your camera to record your adventure and a cooler with ice packs to take home fresh farm product that you may purchase along the way.

.....Please plan your route based on your interests and time available and allow adequate time to visit any or all of the sites. You may start and stop at any point along the way...there is no set pattern. Please print a copy of the map and directions and put them in the car before you leave home.

While the tour is FREE we would appreciate knowing that you plan to join us. Please take a minute to send an e-mail letting us know to expect you. Just include your basic contact information: name and number in your party (close estimate is OK), and address/e-mail (optional) if you would like us to contact you in the future about upcoming events, farmer's markets, and other information about how to buy local food and support local family farms with your food dollars.

This day is about learning about of local farms, making memories with your family and savoring some of the flavors of our local family farms. Please enjoy and let us know what you think!
